Welcome to the RSS Tournament & Exhibition FAQ page. We know that with any event comes plenty of good questions, so we’ve pulled together everything you need to know in one easy spot. Whether you’re travelling from around the corner or around the world, competing, or simply coming along to soak up the atmosphere, this page is designed to help you feel informed, prepared and ready to enjoy a few days of golf, learning and good company. VENUES

The Golf Institute – 24 Capital Drive, Grovedale

The Golf Institute is proud to host the official kick-off for the RSS Tournament. This is where your tournament journey begins, join us on Wednesday 18 February 2026, with the Exhibition starting at 4 pm, showcasing some of the game’s greatest legends and exciting highlights.

 

 

RACV Torquay Golf Club – 1 Great Ocean Road, Torquay

The tournament officially tees off at RACV Torquay Golf Club, with a Shotgun Start at 7:30 am on Thursday 19 February 2026. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to warm up and make your way to your allocated hole. After your round, join us for a BBQ lunch in the clubhouse to relax, share stories, and celebrate the day’s play.

 

 

The Barwon Heads Golf Club – Golf Links Road, Barwon Heads

The second and final round of the tournament will be played at The Barwon Heads Golf Club, starting with a 7:30 am Shotgun Start on Friday 20 February 2026. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to warm up and be ready at your allocated hole. After the round, join us in the spectacular, newly renovated Clubhouse for lunch and presentations to celebrate the conclusion of the tournament.

General Locations

  1. Geelong CBD area — where Crowne Plaza Geelong sits.

  2. Grovedale — just south of central Geelong is The Golf Institute.

  3. Barwon Heads — further south-west along the Bellarine Peninsula is Barwon Heads Golf Club.

  4. Torquay / Great Ocean Road — further south along the Surf Coast is RACV Torquay Golf Course & Resort.

 

Quick Distances (approx)

  • Grovedale → Geelong CBD: ~10 min drive north

  • Geelong CBD → Barwon Heads: ~25–30 min south-west

  • Barwon Heads → Torquay: ~25–30 min south

 

ACCOMMODATION

Crowne Plaza Geelong – 33 Smythe Street, Geelong

A limited number of rooms have been secured at the newly opened Crowne Plaza Geelong, with special event rates available from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 February 2026. Rates include buffet breakfast and a range of room types and upgrade options are available, subject to availability at the time of booking.

For those who have not yet booked accommodation and still require it, we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible, as availability is limited and demand is high. All accommodation must be booked directly with Crowne Plaza Geelong using this official booking link.

 

ARE MEALS INCLUDED?

Lunch is included on Thursday 19 February at RACV Torquay Golf Club, with drinks available for purchase. On Friday 20 February, lunch and drinks are included at The Barwon Heads Golf Club following the final round.

A casual dinner has also been arranged at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Wednesday 18 February. This is not included in the registration price, with homemade pizzas and drinks available for purchase. If you’d like to join this dinner please complete the form using this link.

 

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY / ALLERGY REQUIREMENTS?

As part of the registration process, you can advise your dietary / allergy requirements, and they will be accommodated.  If you missed this through the registration process, please email Justine justine.lamb@thegolfinstitute.com.au with your requirements as soon as possible.

 

WHERE IS THE ON-SITE REGISTRATION?

On-site registration will be held at The Golf Institute, 24 Capital Drive, Grovedale on Wednesday 18 February from 3:00 pm. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted, receive your lanyard, and a small goody bag to get you ready for the event.

 

WHERE CAN I PARK?

  • The Golf Institute: Parking on-site is very limited, so car pooling is highly recommended where possible. Please adhere to all street parking signs and ensure you do not block driveways of neighbouring businesses.

  • RACV Torquay Golf Club & The Barwon Heads Golf Club: Please use the allocated parking areas adjacent to the clubhouses and follow all signage.

 

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE IN GEELONG?

Geelong in mid-February is typically warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures around 25–28°C (77–82°F) and mild evenings of 15–18°C (59–64°F). It can get windy at times, and there may be the occasional hot day, so be sure to stay well hydrated, wear a hat, and use sunscreen. Light showers are possible, but mostly you can expect clear skies and plenty of sunshine to enjoy the tournament.

 
CAN I WARM UP BEFORE I PLAY?

If you’d like to warm up before your round, The RACV Torquay Golf Club offers practice nets and a putting green, while The Barwon Heads Golf Club features a practice range, short game area, and putting green. Practice balls are available for purchase at the relevant Pro-Shop on each day.

 

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

For all events, please wear golf attire or neat casual clothing. No denim is permitted in the clubhouses.

 

WHO WILL I BE PLAYING WITH?

Your playing partners and tournament draw will be arranged and shared with you ahead of the event, so you’ll know exactly where to be and who you’ll be out on the course with.

 

CAN MY PARTNER ATTEND WITH ME BUT NOT PLAY?

Yes, your partner is very welcome to attend the events with you. There will be a charge of $300 per attendee to cover catering and event costs.  Please advise Justine as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made.

 

TRY THE FULL MIZUNO EQUIPMENT RANGE, INCLUDING THE NEW JPX1 DRIVER

Mizuno will be onsite at The Golf Institute on Wednesday 18 February and Thursday 19 February, offering limited fitting sessions for those keen to try the full Mizuno equipment range. This includes the brand new Mizuno JPX1 Driver — the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

If you’d like to book a fitting, please let us know. Available times are between 11am and 2pm on Wednesday and 3pm and 6pm on Thursday, with spots allocated on a first-in basis.
